Software Questions?

Mozell Sponsler: Its not decided by the domain .. but the quality and ease of use ...And yes commercial software is the major part right now

Leann Villalta: Freeware is free. Public domain may be free. Shareware and commercial software cost money.

Krystal Cordovano: Shareware is the answer to your first question. And I would say that shareware is probably also the answer to your second question. I have seen very very very very few "true" commercial software. Commercial meaning that I had to buy it in its physical form (like on a CD or a DVD from a store) or from online with a purchase download without a trial of some sort being available. And I have seen a lot of software. The majority is shareware where they gladly let you test it before you buy like for a month or two weeks. Public Domain where anybody can modify it and redistribute it (those are the best ones by the way like firefox and VLC). Freeware would be the third most common and commercial is the ! least common actually. Now remember, when I say commercial, I mean no trial is available. You either buy it or no. And the only ones I have seen are the ones that are very highly specialized in which the general public is not interested like some really obscure engineering application that lets you model electrical circuits or some really special advanced statistical analysis software.Unless your definition of commercial and shareware overlap....Show more

Kris Bozelle: Shareware or trialware lets you try before buying the software.

Toya Braskett: freeware is free all the time, where as shareware will normally give you limited access untill you buy a code.and yes, commercial software is the majority of sortware like windows and stuff

Perry Deshazior: The majority is probably shareware. Go to a site such as download.com and see how much is available.Freeware and public domain is free.Shareware and commercial cost money.✩
