They burn the nerves using a microwave probe. I also had 2 disks in my lumbar that they did an Thermal Annuloplasty procedure where they stick a probe into a herniated disk and heat it up for several seconds and it shrinks the bulge and then the disk supposedly heals with out the bulge. But now 8 years later my spine has gone bade all the way to my neck with stenoses and bone spurs into my spinal canal. Virgil Menefee: I am uncertain what exactly the meaning of blocked nerves are. Since this is an alternative medicine site , I take it to mean that you may be referring to blocked meridians or blocked flow of Chi. My pet interest in removing blocks is the use of Energy Psychology; which is performed by stimulating acupressure points by tapping them with your finger tips whilst talking about an emotionally charged issue. This combination of talk therapy and tapping actually works wonders and apparently unblocks energy flow or "nerves", although as a doctor I cannot explain how this works.
