Good art & crafts stores?

Salvatore Walls: Michaels carries a large selection of the Westrim brand of "common" beads, in addition to several brands of fancier beads. Joann Fabric and Crafts carries a large selection of the Darice brand of "common" beads, in addition to several brands of fancier ones. So, while their selections are hghly similar in the fancier beads, they are quite different in the "common" beads. I would suggest you try a Joann's store or their website (www.joann.com -- unlike Michaels, Joann's actually sells online.) If you are looking for a larger quanitity, or maybe a repeat purchase, check out www.firemountaingems.com. They have everything from the fancy faceted real gemstones (the stuff a real jeweler would use and sell) to acrylic beads for kids. They have sterling silver alphabet beads and acrylic ones. They are a wholesaler that also sells retail, so you won't get the best price on a small order. They have a discount when you order a certain number of items. The shipping a! nd handling is at least $7.65 per order ($5.- flat rate for standard shipping of any size order & $2.65 handling -- yes, I do order frequently there) so you may want to get a couple of friends together to make a combined order so you all get better prices and split the shipping....Show more

Ollie Hamiel: to be specific i'm looking for alphabet beads but not like the regular white kind, something a little different i guess.

Stanton Valdivia: Well here in the midwest we have what is called Hobby Lobby. They do have an online store as well that is similar to there actual physical store. Aside from that alot of our Fabric stores like Hancock and Jo-annes have lots of craft things as well. You just have to go to that section. If you go to your local super walmart they more than likely have a craft section as well.In addition there are TONS of online craft stores. If I knew what you were looking for I could suggest some!...Show more
