Where can I donate toys for the Holidays??

Alberto Kozub: Toys for Tots will accept new toys (Marine Corps sponsors this) Hope it helps.

Michal Semple: Maybe something like the Ronald McDonald House.

Rosie Travino: Homeless people aren't beggars, nor are homeless shelters! Shame on you for that comment! In addition, most homeless shelters are focused on housing adults, providing them the very basic necessities; they often have no room to store anything except absolute necessities.Call your local United Way and ask if Toys for Tots is doing any toy drives in your area. Contact local service clubs as well (Kiwanis, Rotary, Lions, etc.) and ask if they know of such toy drives. And educate yourself about homelessness and homeless shelters....Show more

Krystal Cordovano: Jayne gave you a very good answer. If they can not put the toys to good use to help a child or do not have children there they would be very wrong to take them when you could be such a blessing to some child. The average homeless Am! erican is a 6 yr old child but not all shelters serve children in fact many don't and the ones that do often are flooded with toys. Besides the possibilities Jayne mentioned call your local school district and speak with the social worker or homeless students coordinator and ask if he/she will get the toys to a child in need that other agencies may not be serving. Not all homeless children are in shelters many are with one relative today and somewhere else tomorrow, or staying in a car or a shed like a couple of precious little ones we help, or even camping in this cold weather or in a cheap motel when mom can afford a room and in a transit station, all night eatery parking lot or even a cardboard box other times. These children will be especially appreciative that you cared and helped. also check with the local paper or United Way and ask if they know of anyone doing a Christmas vacation program for homeless or at risk children...Show more

Spencer Heidtbrink: ! I see holiday toy drives at supermarkets, schools, libraries -! just pay attention and ask your neighbors, and you might encounter one by chance.beyond the local groups, I use charitynavigator.org to find organizations that serve a specific need.

Darren Heling: there are Toys For Tots boxes every where. Try WalMart, your bank, your library
